A week in Dublin 6

Another week, another set of hipster pictures taken on my iPhone!

Myself and Gem went strolling around town last Friday in the intermittent sun, doing everything we could that didn’t involve drinking. So we went into Dublin castle to check out some large sand sculptures. They were quite cool, and Gem asked a guard about how they don’t fall to bits in the rain. As it turns out, they’re covered in some enamel to keep them together in the all-too-present rain.

There was also some debate in work about cycling. This was, in part, due to the Tour de Picnic coming along and the fact that, being hipsters in work, we have a lot of cyclists (myself included) who commute around. Often in the rain.

One of the guys decided that, on his lunch, instead of eating he should buy a new bike. Which he did… who knew Felt did fixies?

Also, my beloved Bayern Munich went to the top of the league table in Germany! Huzzah!

Speaking of work, someone was buying a new Mac in our retail section, and so we got to play with an old PowerMac G4. I noted, quite rightly, that this old Mac from 2002 looks very similar to what a new Dell would be like. Apple are very much ahead of the curve!

We also had a supplier in showing off their wares. I’m not normally part of this but the opportunity to go out for free drinks and food afterwards was too big to ignore. There were cool things to check out, like this iPad gaming cabinet!

That same night we ended up in the Workmans Club where our colleague, friend and hipster leader was DJ’ing.
