The last few weeks

I haven’t done “a week in Dublin” post in some time. Partly due to time constraints and partly because of sheer laziness.

As such instead of talking about the last week I had, I’ll briefly skim over the last month or so!

Firstly, this week has been a disaster in many respects. When trying to find a place to move to before my lease is up and I ship out of my current apartment, I toyed with the idea of moving far away from where I’m used to. The idea was kaiboshed in my head simply because of the distance and mess I had to get through in order to get back into the city after a huge rain storm occurred and rendered the city useless.

The LUAS stopped running to a stop that was too far out from the city to be a short walk (or wade). Not only that, the bus seemed to stop running in most cases – so I had an epic walk leading a pack of about 15 people back into town. Often having to wade through a foot of water, or having to walk narrow side streets instead of flooded main roads.

So now I’m looking at another few options to move into more central locations. We’ll see how that goes in the never-ending hunt for the perfect apartment.

In work, though, we got a PS3! Enter a new world of conflict resolution through the power of FIFA.

We also said goodbye to one of our colleagues, Ram, who went back to India forever. A year and a half working closely with him. Sad to see him go but no doubt he’ll setup a mini call center via Skype just for us!

Also in this month we marked the passing of Steve Jobs with a tribute outside our retail location in Dublin. As the days passed more and more wreaths and flowers arrived from Dubliners paying tribute to a true modern hero. People also took bites out of apple’s (the fruit) and left them.
